Summer Break
During the lockdown period you will be aware that we as a school have been conducting regular welfare checks with you and your family and offering various kinds of additional support if required. As we enter into the holiday period these school services will come to an end as staff will be taking their summer holiday before the beginning of the new term in September, when we expect school to return to operating at full capacity. The local authority’s extended services allow for the fact that schools are closed during this time and are ready to offer additional support for families when required; in the majority of cases the main point of contact would be the One point Service who offer similar levels of intervention to that which is normally offered by school. In more extreme circumstances First Contact would be used if there is a concern about the welfare of a child and in an emergency because a child is in immediate danger it should be the police. The school will maintain a reduced safeguarding response during the holidays which can be accessed via our school website at www.deltaindependentschool.com and clicking on the ‘contact us’ option but this should only be used if other avenues have been exhausted. Hopefully there will be no requirement to use the services outline above but if the need does arise please find the relevant contact details below:

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to say, the staff team at school have really valued the experience of working with our families during the lockdown period and hope you have a great summer break in preparation for a return to something approaching normality in September.
Many thanks from all at Delta Independent School
