Medication at Delta Independent School
At Delta Independent School, we are committed to ensuring that pupils with medical conditions receive the support they need to access education safely and successfully.
We follow the Department for Education's statutory guidance, Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions at School, and work closely with parents, carers and healthcare professionals to ensure pupils' medical needs are met safely.
Administering Medication
Where medication needs to be administered during the school day:
Medication must be provided in its original pharmacy-labelled container.
Parents or carers must complete a Request to Administer Medication form before medication can be given.
Prescription medication will only be administered as directed by the prescribing healthcare professional.
Medication is stored securely and administered by appropriately trained members of staff.
A written record is kept every time medication is administered.
Parents will be contacted if there are any concerns regarding their child's medication.
